This is clearly one of my favourite weddings of last summer starring one of my favourite families of all-time.

Hilary & Andrew got married at the fabulous RCYC on Toronto Island. It was the perfect sunny summer day. It was an UBER hot day…..we all lost about 5-10 pounds in sweat but it was totally worth it….just look at the pics!!!! I had never been to the venue before that day, everything had to be loaded onto barges…and unloaded, and up stairs a million times….lol, but no one i would rather schlep for than Hilary, she was an absolute dream to work and it didn’t hurt that she has absolutely fabulous taste too:)

Favourite parts of the wedding were by far the flowering a tree (that ps apparently still looked amazing the next day and another bride used it in her ceremony!!) Also, creating a large arrangement in a Trophy (for the second time, check out Hilary’s sisters wedding here that we did 2 years ago). I just want to say thanks again for letting us flower up your day Hilary it was truly amazing::)

Pop Up Chapel August 11th, 2017………my sister got married!!!

MY SISTER GOT MARRIED!!!!!!!! YYAahhhhhh

I was already involved in this amazing pop up chapel organized by the ridiculously talented Lynzie Kent at Love By Lynzie. I was asked to create a large foliage backdrop for the ceremony portion of this pop chapel held at The Drake Hotel in downtown Toronto. Lynzie mentioned that they were opening up a few more spots for more couples to get married and asked if i knew anyone…..i immediately sent the details to my sister Kelly asking her she and her fiancé Curtis wanted to get married……..she emailed back in less than 5 minutes with a YES and that was that. Kelly & Curtis got married at a pop up chapel for $600 (proceeds by the way going to SKETCH Canada, we raised just under $6000 for SKETCH, a charity that empowers street involved youth and youth living on the margins (ages 16-29) through the arts.)

Everyone by now knows that i’m a bright colour lover….but……..as far as white and green/soft colour weddings go……..this is one of the best EVER!!!! The mastermind behind the design was Shealyn from Shelly Angus Weddings & Event with the help of the brides mom Sandra::). No detail was forgotten. There was tons of texture, mixed with brass, gold, candles, plants, fabric, flowers, greens, you name it, we had it all:)

I never met Elynn until her actual wedding day. I had no idea how sweet she would end up being….and how gorgeous!!!! Please take a look at the many pics below and also the feature in Wedding Bells Magazine of this truly fabulous Muskoka wedding.

The green wedding

I’ve always wanted to create an all green wedding. Maddie let me do just that::))) ALL floral elements were green except for the few white astrantia in her floral crown.

This was the single windiest day i have EVER had setting up a wedding…… I almost blew off a ladder several times while decorating the chuppah (i included a few “windy” pics to prove my point). I actually had to run inside twice because it started to downpour. Lets just say i used about 100 zip tie’s to hold the greens on the chuppah……but in the end the sun came out and the outdoor ceremony was simply gorgeous set in the middle of the lake.

The Vow Project makes it to Green Wedding Shoes:)

This is one of those photo shoots that kind of just turned out perfectly. There is nothing that i would have changed (except the Pan Am Toronto traffic). This shoot was produced by the two creative minds of Lynzie of Love By Lynzie & Jennifer of Ferre Sposa. The two fabulous ladies created 3 events that real-life-brides can enter to win top to bottom styled shoots….kind of a wicked prize if you ask me. This concept is called: The Vow Project

All i’m gonna say is GREEN WEDDING SHOES. I’ve been in this business for more years than i will admit. The Green Wedding shoes blog was one of the first of it’s kind and was amazing from the beginning……and has kept at the top of the Wedding Blog game for years…..

There are not too many occasions that a wedding is held on a gorgeous private island in Muskoka…….i really wish there were more…lol….seriously this cottage/venue was absolutely gorgeous…….i kind of want it to be mine……

We worked with the couple Jenn & Kirk and the AMAZING wedding planner Bryn Allison of an Artistic Affair to bring a elegant Muskoka vibe to the cottage. Tons of Helix candles, moss, Muskoka rocks, succulents, and birch chargers we arranged on the guest tables to create a warm and relaxed Muskoka feel. I think you all know that i’m a “colour girl”, but if i were going to ever do a neutral palette this would be the way i would do it:)

This wedding was styled to perfection from Lynzie & Carly at Love By Lynzie. The ladies hand-picked all the items including the many vintage furniture pieces. Jessy, Ry & I set up the birch arch with the peach lace curtains….it turned out even better than i imagined:) Congrats again to the happy couple Kim & Richard!!!!!!!
